Haiti and the Dominican Republic should be merged and become one country to stop that way, once and for all, “the massive illegal migration of Haitians to Santo Domingo, said the popular singer Michel Martelly, presidential candidate from the neighboring country.

Martelly said the Haitian drama is very painful.

“My country’s problems have worsened more after the terrible earthquake that hit us on 12 January last year,” said the Haitian artist.

Martelly said in an interview for the TV show “Nuria”, hosted by journalist Nuria Piera, the Dominican authorities must “open the border” for Haitians to enter free country without being stopped. ”

According to the artist and politician, Haiti needs a great transformation, but said “it is not easy … it takes several years and much to our country will be lifted.”

In addition, he said that his country does not suit you at the moment, the return of former President Jean Bertrand Aristide.

“I think that neither Aristide nor Jean Claude Duvalier in Haiti should be … is not the time for them to live in Haiti, particularly in this electoral process,” said Haitian presidential candidate.

Haiti’s elections are scheduled to be held on March 20 and Martelly says will be the new head of state of the neighboring nation of 11 million inhabitants.

He said that Haitians are “weary” of traditional politicians because, he said, could not, for over 50 years to solve the serious problems that bring down to Haiti. / Source impre.com

This guy has got to be kidding. The Dominican Republic struggles as it is to manage the needs of its people. In addition, the burden has been made more difficult by an even larger influx of Haitians.
Steps have been taken to send Haitians back to Haiti as the current numbers have become unsustainable. Enough is enough. The Dominican Republic has demonstrated its concern and care for its neighbor in their time of crisis after the hurricane. The situation that exists now is due to the bottomless pit of greed and corruption of Haiti’s so called leaders and that is nothing new. Trust me, D.R. has its share of that and doesn’t need to import more.

    Apunta para otro lado.

Let me ask you something Mr. stupid Dancer ,
Why are Dominicans so proud of themselves and their country ?

After our Independence from Haitians in 1844, they tried to take back our territory and we won 13 more battles consecutively. After this, we fought and won for our sovereignty against the Spanish forces during the Restoration war, we fought twice against USA in 1914 and 1965.

We have killed 3 dictators for our liberties. Currently Dominican Republic is the country with the highest growth rate in Latin America with 7%,

We are the top tourist destination in Caribbean with 6 millions annual visitors, DR is the only country in Caribbean with 26 protected national parks.

We love our country and our “Dominicanidad” Mr. Dancer Martelly , we’re better than any country in LA, so we don’t want and we don’t need to merge our beautiful and loved territory with USA, England, France, Russia and much less Haiti.

Now, please ask yourself again : Do you think that Dominicans like your absurd and ridiculous opinion ?.

This must be the dumbest article out there. I propose the USA merge with Mexico to solve the Mexican problems. There will be a few disagreements at first but after a few companys come in and help both countries out we shall all be fine. It just makes me angry to hear dumb stuff like this.
